Prison officials at the Ogwashi Uku prisons in Delta state have been accused of torturing one of its inmates, Onos Osagie, for allegedly leaking out information about the activities in the prisons. According to Prince Harrison Gwamnishu who shared the story online, the prison officers tortured the inmate because he disclosed that an inmate died on Sunday due to the failure of the prison officers to take him to the hospital. An inmate in Ogwashi Uku Prison Onos Osagie awaiting trial prisoner who has spent 5years is currently undergoing punishment.
The prison Authorities claimed Onos leaked the information about the malnourished prisoners to Behind Bars Intervention.
He was chained yesterday, beaten and locked up in a punishment cell.
The Controller General of Prisons is expected to be in Ogwashi Uku Prison today.
