A pretty hair stylist who got arrested for violating a domestic protective order, is on the verge of making more profits after her mugshot went viral because of her 'amazing' hairstyle. Shia Milan Yearwood, 23, from Charlotte, North Carolina, was arrested on January 3 and her mugshot was on Twitter by the account @CharlotteMugs.  After the hairstyle started generating attention on social media, Shia decided to use the golden opportunity to boost her business and reach out to her prospective customers. Shia retweeted the picture, including the hashtag '#BraidByShia and wrote 'Can't hold me back either.' Speaking to BET, Shia explained her motivation: 'I was just simply showing people that I had nothing to be ashamed about. I thought I looked good and I thought my braids looked amazing — they were literally done two hours prior to the mugshot.' A former chairman of Orolu Local Government Area of Osun state, Chief Rufus Woleola Ojo was today convicted and sentenced d to 6 years imprisonment for corruption. The convict who was prosecuted at the Osun State High Court, Ede by the Ibadan Zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, was pronounced guilty by Justice David Oladimeji on two of the three count amended charge filed against him. The court accordingly, sentenced him to three-year jail term on each of the two counts. The sentences are however to run concurrently.  The journey to prison began for Ojo following his arraignment before Justice F.E. Owolabi of the Osun State High Court on Tuesday, 28 May, 2013 on a three count charge bordering on stealing, using position for personal gratification and money laundering. The Special Fraud Unit SFU of the Nigerian Police Force, on Monday January 8th re -arraigned four men before a Federal High Court, in Lagos, by the Special Fraud Unit (SFU), of the Nigerian Police force for allegedly obtaining the sum of $1.362 million and N46. 533 million under false pretence, from a former House of Representative member, Eseme Eyiboh, PM News reports. The four men arraigned before the court are Izekor Osatohanmwen Ogiemonyi, alias, Prince Joshua Akenzua: Stephen Victor, alias James Ajayi: Bolade Babatunde, alias Honourable Lawal Adewunmi, and Alhaji Jimoh Saka, alias Tola Ajayi. Paddy who currently resides in the US, disclosed this on twitter this morning. 'US Police shot and killed 987 people In 2017' - Washington Post

According to a report published on Monday by The Washington Post, Police officers shot and killed nearly 1,000 people in the United States in 2017, slightly more than the previous year.   A total of 987 people were fatally shot by US police in 2017 up from 963 in 2016 and down from 995 in 2015, the Post said.  The newspaper has been logging details of shootings by police in the United States since 2015, tracking local news reports, public records and social media.   The use of deadly force by US police has attracted increased attention in recent years, highlighted by the high-profile slayings of a number of unarmed black men. Nineteen unarmed African-American men were killed by US police in 2017, up from 17 in 2016 but down from 36 in 2015. The Minister of Agriculture, Audu Ogbeh, has said that the lingering crisis between herdsmen and farmers in many parts of the country is because of the long term neglect of cattle rearers by the Federal government. John Young,  America's "most experienced astronaut" has died at the age of 87. "We attacked Benue communities because the residents attacked and stole our cows"-Miyetti Allah cattle breeders

A leader of the Miyetti Allah cattle Breeders in Benue State, Garus Gololo, says the recent attack on two communities in the state was because residents of the communities attacked and stole their cows, the Nation reports. Recall that on New Year day, Fulani herdsmen attacked some Benue communities, killing 20 persons including a pregnant woman.  In an interview with BBC News pidgin English, Gololo said that over 1000 of their cows were stolen at Nengere when their owners were relocating to Taraba through Nasarawa State. He said the herdsmen were only defending themselves from thieves.

Suspected herdsmen kill six persons in fresh Benue attack

Few days after 20 persons were killed in an attack carried out by suspected herdsmen in Guma and Logo local government areas of the state between Monday and Tuesday this week, another attack carried out in the early hours of today, January 6th, by suspected herdsmen, has left no fewer than six persons dead.  According to reports, the fresh attack took place at a settlement called Tse-Kimbir in Logo local government area of the state. A member of the community, Prince Cephas Hough, told the Nation that the herdsmen, armed with AK 47 rifles, stormed their homes very early in the morning.  He said the assailants went from house to house and robbed the inhabitants of their valuables before shooting six people dead. Those killed in the attack were identified as Kwaghve Baaki, Terhemen Kwaghve, Ioryue Tsehemba,Zahemen Tsavkuleve, Ahemba Shaku and a visitor who reportedly came from Nongov, in Guma local government area of the state.
